Speaker: Craig Hough- Policy Manager at Agriculture Victoria

A division of the Victorian Government's Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources. One of his responsibilities is leading the Victorian Government's $12 million on-farm Internet of Things trial and development of a digital agriculture strategy for Victoria.

Craig's Presentation: Digital Agriculture in Victoria - A Transformational Change Opportunity
Victoria is the leading Australian state for agriculture production and exports. Maintaining this status in the face of productivity and other challenges will require the sector to embrace the wave of digital innovation that is accelerating across the world. Agriculture is the least digitalised industry in Australia due to various barriers and constraints, like poor digital connectivity in the regions. This presentation will outline how the Victorian Government is intending to cut through the obstacles and create a foundation for a digitally ready, capable and internationally competitive farming sector across the state.

Speaker: Matty Blomfield- 'Hectre'- New Zealand
Matty Blomfield is an entrepreneur at heart. He really loves to get stuff done and make things happen. He loves future technology, A.I., and computer vision. Matty is absolutely obsessed with improving the productivity in the horticulture space and deeply wants to improve the world's food safety. He co-founded Hectre in 2015 to help achieve that. Matty is the head of Product and Sales at Hectre, and is on a mission to add technology out in the orchard where it can make the biggest impact. Hectre provides growers one place to capture data and visualise it, for increased yield, precision, and traceability. Providing real-time knowledge to growers to enable them to create the perfect fruit.

Speaker: Airlie Trescowthick- The Farm Table

The Farm Table is a place for Australian farmers and the broader industry to access independent, timely and relevant industry information.

The Farm Table is not reinventing the wheel. Rather, it is essentially a central, online toolbox —  the platform connects producers, students, agribusiness professionals, and others involved or interested in the industry, to information quickly and easily in a user-friendly format.

Managing Director, Airlie Trescowthick, stated, “The effort put into sustaining and growing individual enterprises takes 100% of a grower's effort and there is often little time to engage in continuous education. The Farm Table is part of my journey of learning and making sense of our industry and I hope it is useful to others.”
